About Don Weaver

For much of my life, I have been drawn to moments that ask us to slow down.

As a psychologist, I worked with people navigating change — learning how to live more fully in the present rather than in remembered pasts or imagined futures. Over time, I began to notice that the same lessons were written in light.

Before dawn, when the world is quiet and the sky begins to shift, something subtle happens. Edges soften. Perspective widens. What felt urgent the night before often feels different in the early light.

Photography became my way of standing inside that transition — and inviting others into it.

Based in Colorado Springs, I rise before sunrise, drawn to the changing forces of light over mountains, valleys, and open skies. As day unfolds, that same light softens into evening, and later returns in the quiet authority of the moon. Each threshold — dawn, dusk, and night — offers a moment where perspective shifts and stillness becomes visible.

My work is less about spectacle and more about awareness — about the kind of seeing that invites reflection rather than distraction.

Through large-format metal prints, annual Sunrise Inspirations calendars, curated collections, and digital installations, I create imagery designed to invite stillness, clarity, and renewal.

If these images offer even a moment of presence, then they have done their work.

About Carol Weaver

I have always felt a spiritual connection to Nature. Here I am at the age of 17 and now. So, when I and my husband Don relocated to Colorado Springs in 2016, I became enthralled with the beauty of the mountains and natural environment. This inspired me to create art that could celebrate my felt connection to Nature – fibre art that could capture Nature’s vibrant colors and stimulating tactile properties. I began this journey by crocheting original “yarnscapes” of Colorado nature scenes and then evolved to creating original 3-D yarn art (“yarn sculptures)” integrating Nature with the hyperbolic plane mathematical concept.  Aptly, I call my present focus The Branching Out Series. I look forward to my continuing evolutionary journey.
